This video short from the 1960s features a woman going to a salon to get a new “Space Age” hairstyle. Once in the salon, several women are seen getting their hair done while the announcer states “as if their atomic shampoos weren’t sufficient, these girls prepare to make their hair stand on end by reading the most lurid space age tales”. An interesting note is that the hair salon featured in this video is located in Wokingham, Berkshire and still exists today under another owner. It can be seen in Google Street View here.
