Love on the Run is a 1936 film starring Joan Crawford, Franchot Tone, and Clark Gable. It tells the story of Sally Parker, a runaway bride who flees from her wedding to fortune-seeking Prince Igor. She is followed back to her hotel by an undercover reporter who offers to help her “get away from it all.” They leave the hotel and go to the airport. When they steal an airplane, they discover secret spy plans and soon get caught up in political intrigue. Although Love on the Run opened to mixed reviews, it was a financial success. The movie premiered on November 20, 1936.
