Yesterday I was off from work and I opted to stay in. While flipping through channels, I noticed that The Reckless Moment was coming on so I decided to watch it. The movie stars James Mason, Joan Bennett, Geraldine Brooks, and Shepperd Strudwick. The story follows Lucia Harper, a mother who tries to protect her family from scandal after thinking that her daughter had murdered her lover. She faces this alone as her husband is abroad at the time. A stranger named Martin Donnelly appears and tries to blackmail Lucia but ultimately falls in love with her.
I was totally captivated by this wonderful movie. The intense pressures faced by Lucia as she attempts to protect her family while trying to live her life as normal as possible is brilliantly portrayed by Joan Bennett. James Mason is great as reformed crook Martin Donnelly. I would definitely recommend this movie!
