Death of a Salesman is a classic 1951 film based on Arthur Miller’s Pulitzer Prize-winning play. It stars Fredric March, Mildred Dunnock, and Kevin McCarthy. The movie follows a salesman named Willy Loman who spent his life trying to be successful only to find himself a failure. After losing his job, Willy tries to make peace with his wife Linda and his two sons Biff and Happy. An interesting fact is that despite winning numerous awards, the film was not a box-office success. This was attributed to the fact that the film dealt with the character’s failure in achieving the “American dream” which was not popular with audiences in this time of history.
